School days, school days

Makenna started preschool this morning. She will go every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 8:30-11. There are 13 students in her class - 7 girls and 6 boys.

Her first day went really well. No tears, but a little whimpery and clingy when I was leaving. But her teacher reported that she got over that as soon as I was gone. She engaged in the class, and did all the activities. Makenna reported to me that she got to pour her own water at snack time, she painted, she cut paper with scissors, she used some tape, and she played outside on the slides, swings and rode a bike (they have a few bikes/trikes in the schoolyard). Sounds like a pretty eventful 2 1/2 hours!

All in all, day one was a success. Let's hope to continue that momentum next week...

Looks like the classroom is jammed packed! Certainly shouldn't be any "bored" children. Love that "Makenna look" at the end. Hugs and kisses Makenna. We love you.
